State Of the Nation Address 2018

President Rodrigo Roa Duterte delivered his third State of the Nation Address (SONA) on July 23, 2018 at Quezon City. He delivered a speech of his accomplishments and his plans for th next few months of his tenure. SONA 2018 was delayed by an hour as advice of who will be seated beside President Duterte was not immediately finalized after Pampanga Rep. Gloria Macapagal Arroyo sworn as the new House SONA 2018 Forum. So the SONA proper started at 5:22 in the afternoon at 6:09 pm or longer by few minutes, due to some of the cuff remarks of the president.

He mentioned first at the Batasang Pambansa on Monday, July 23. Is all about the drug war. He says it will be "rentless" and "as chilling as the day it began". Slams human rights groups for criticizing the anti-drug campaign. He also said that "If you think that I can be dissuaded from continuing this fight because of demonstrations, your protests, which I by the way find misdirected, then you got it all wrong. Your concern is human rights, mine is nhuman lives". Our country, Philippines, as we all know is struggling. The people are protesting and rallying because of President Duterte's only concern is the lives of his constituent but I think the way he executes the act is somehow irrelevant.

President Duterte also mentioned of the fact that he did in fact appoint friends and accomplices to key government positions but also made then resign and go out from service because of problems with transparency and governance. He said that his friendship has limits and that in his mind. Says he's had to fire " friends" due to corruption.

The Philippines is a good country. If we want our economy to ascends, then we have to work for it for the  sake of ourselves and for the sake of our own country and watch our actions if they are right because what we do may come back to us.

    This was a light read for a reaction paper of a large speech, although that would be the case, I found this very Interesting and enlightening
